Road crew workers are the skilled individuals responsible for the construction, repair, and maintenance of roads, bridges, and highways in the United Kingdom. As a road crew worker, you will be involved in a range of tasks, from road resurfacing and pavement repair to traffic management and safety protocols.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in constructing new roads and highways
- Might be required to handle the excavation, grading, and laying asphalt or concrete surfaces
- Repair and maintain existing pavements, patching potholes, fixing cracks, and ensuring smooth road surfaces
- Implement traffic control measures, set up signs and barriers, and direct vehicles safely during construction activities
- Operate construction equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, and pavers
- Adhere to safety regulations and follow established procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
