They perform different tasks depending on the type of factory they work in, such as operating machines, assembling parts, inspecting products, packing and shipping orders, and maintaining and cleaning equipment. Factory workers are responsible for meeting quality standards and deadlines, as well as following safety procedures and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operating production equipment, such as mixers, ovens, grinders, presses, drills, saws, and welders
- Assembling and inspecting machinery parts, such as gears, valves, pistons, and wires
- Monitoring product quality and quantity, and reporting any defects or deviations
- Packing and labeling finished products, and preparing them for shipment
- Loading and unloading materials and products, using forklifts, carts, or pallet jacks
- Storing and organizing inventory, and keeping track of stock levels
- Cleaning and maintaining the factory premises, equipment, and tools
- Following instructions, manuals, and diagrams, and adhering to safety and quality guidelines
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a factory worker or a similar role
- Basic math and computer skills
- Good physical strength and stamina
- Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Impeccable interpersonal skills
- Good communication and organization skills
- Able to effectively work as part of a team
